Dear Parent:
Welcome back to a new school year! Your child is on the 8 White team. All team teachers are near each other to make it easier for students to pass from class to class. In Science Mr. Garth Stubbolo and Mrs. Janae Baldwin will use a team teaching approach.
In your child’s science class he/she will receive a Course Syllabus that will outline all policies and procedures for the course. This is a lengthy packet that clearly states how the course will run, homework policy, grading policy and parent contact information etc. We understand that will be inundated with paperwork the first few days of school, but these documents are designed to answer questions about the way our programs operate and to serve as a reference for you in the future. Please take some time to review the information and return the signature form.
The material requirements for the course are simple. The students will need a 1.5” three ring binder, dividers, loose leaf notebook paper (a lot of it!) (no spiral notebooks please) pencils and pens (no gel or neon pens please! My old eyes can’t read them J! ) and a pack of colored pencils. These items should be purchased as soon as possible.
We will do a lot of work on the computer this year. We will provide diskettes, but your child will need a hard case to store them. These are commonly available at office supply stores such as Staples and Office Max. The type that holds 5 disks is best. We have several to show the students so they will know the type to purchase. There is no rush on this item, but we would appreciate it if all materials could be obtained by the end of September.
We look forward to working with you and your child. Please feel free to contact either of us anytime via the web (www.mmscrusaders.com then click 8 White then Science Rocks!) email: garth.stubbolo@appo.k12.de.us or janae.baldwin@appo.k12.de.us or phone 302-378-5001.
Sincerely,
Garth Stubbolo and Janae Baldwin – 8 White Science
